We are Jack and Stephanie Barnes. Ten years ago, we moved to Portland, Oregon in search of the good life. We found it. We live in a 1907 bungalow with our nine-year-old daughter, seven-year-old son and a three-legged cat.
Jack is a licensed architect in Portland, Oregon. After a decade of working for design firms in North Carolina and Portland, he started his own practice in 2004. He crafts residential additions, remodels and houses for clients throughout the northwest. One day he'd like to live in a yurt.
When Stephanie is not assisting Jack in his architecture practice, she makes little things out of fabric and wool. She blogs about lifestyle and simple living at 3191 miles apart with her friend Maria Vettese, and a book of their photography was published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2008. She likes that yurt idea.
